Metal Core PCB (MCPCB) is a composite printed circuit board consisting of a metal base layer, an insulating dielectric layer, and a copper circuit layer. Designed for electronic systems generating significant heat, metal core PCBs deliver superior thermal conductivity – 10 to 100 times that of standard FR-4 (0.3 W/m·K) – efficiently transferring heat away from power components and extending device lifespan. Aluminum-based MCPCBs offer excellent thermal performance and cost efficiency for LED lighting and consumer power electronics, while copper-based MCPCBs provide maximum thermal conductivity (up to 400 W/m·K) for the most demanding automotive and industrial applications. Metal ceramic PCBs combine the thermal conductivity of metal with the electrical insulation of ceramic, achieving equivalent thermal conductivity of 10-30 W/m·K while supporting high-frequency signal integrity.
